AutoDesk acquires Alias

Freaky news in the 3D world – two of the major players in the 3D software industry have just announced they will become one! Autodesk has recently announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Alias for a lazy $182 million – pocket change really. This could signal that 3DS Max will be incorporating a lot of Maya’s features which would be very much welcomed – we’re already hanging out for 3DS Max 8 which should be arriving at our office within weeks!
